CRIDO Legal continues its rapid growth. At the beginning of this year, it merged with REON Legal, and now it significantly strengthens its competencies in the area of banking and finance – Maciej Georg has been appointed as the new partner and head of the practice.

Maciej Georg is an expert with many years of experience in banking and finance. He provides legal advice on various types of financing, particularly in the financing and refinancing of renewable energy and real estate projects, as well as corporate and acquisition finance projects. As an attorney-at-law, Maciej advises domestic and foreign banks and other financial institutions, as well as sponsors and borrowers.

"This is a significant reinforcement for CRIDO Legal, which has dynamically entered 2025 and expanded, thanks to the merger with REON Legal, with a group of recognised legal experts. Maciej's joining our firm is another step in the implementation of our development strategy, which will allow us to better respond to the challenges of our clients in this area. We are pleased that Maciej, who has been highly valued for his extensive experience and client relationships, will manage our banking and finance team, joining forces with experienced Counsels Paweł Samolewicz and Paweł Hoc," says Karol Kicun, partner.

"I am very pleased to become a new partner in such a dynamically developing Polish law firm and to have the pleasure of leading its Banking and Finance practice. I thank the partners at CRIDO Legal for placing great trust in me, and I believe that together we will achieve our business goals and significantly contribute to the further development of CRIDO Legal, both in the Polish market and internationally," says Maciej Georg.

For the past few years, Maciej has led the financial transactions practice as a partner at the Warsaw office of the international law firm Bird & Bird. Previously, he worked at several other renowned law firms in Warsaw, such as Sołtysiński, Kawecki & Szlęzak, Linklaters, Hogan & Hartson, and K&L Gates, where he dealt with banking law, public procurement law, as well as commercial and civil law.

Maciej graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and completed his attorney-at-law training at the Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law in Katowice, where he obtained his attorney-at-law qualifications. Since 2002, he has been an attorney-at-law registered with the Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law in Warsaw. From 2016 to 2019, Maciej was a member of the supervisory board of the listed company Arctic Paper S.A.

On 1 January 2025, CRIDO Legal, part of the leading advisory firm CRIDO with over 430 employees, merged with REON Legal. Karol Kicun, the former managing partner of REON Legal, took on the role of managing partner of the Legal M&A area. The merger significantly strengthened CRIDO Legal's competencies in areas such as M&A, banking and finance, antitrust law, competition protection, and services for German-speaking clients.

CRIDO's Banking and Finance practice has many years of experience in legal support for project financing, refinancing, and debt restructuring. It has supported clients from sectors such as real estate (investors and developers), renewable energy, retail, FMCG, and manufacturing. The team offers comprehensive legal, tax, financial due diligence, and corporate finance advisory services. Recently, the Banking and Finance team was strengthened by the merger with REON Legal, with experts Paweł Samolewicz and Paweł Hoc joining.

Currently, CRIDO Legal is a team of over 40 lawyers specialising in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, labour law, dispute resolution, and legal aspects of the real estate market. CRIDO Legal experts collaborate with both international corporations and Polish entrepreneurs. Thanks to the merger, CRIDO Legal has strengthened its competencies in M&A, corporate banking and finance, antitrust law, competition protection, private equity/venture capital, and real estate.
